THE ELF IN THE OAK – Burdett
This delightful venue is a true treasure along the wineries and breweries of Seneca Lake’s southeast corner. Come with an appetite, as the portions are as expansive as the view.
WHERE: Route 414 in the township of Burdett, immediately north of the Catherine Valley Winery property.
STYLE: Probably best summed up as a sandwich shop, though they have other specials as well. The variety and uniqueness of their offerings for sandwiches, soups and salads is wonderful.
SPECIALTY: Did we mention the sandwiches are great?
SOMETHING TO KNOW: They serve breakfast too, though not generally known for serving dinner past 5pm – with the exception of a nice Fish Fry dinner on Friday nights. They have ice cream, too! Hours are seasonal, so be sure to call ahead for opening days and hours.
