Coming from the Pittsburgh/Ohio and points west area? Then you’re probably arriving on a beautiful, though lonely Interstate 88 from the Jamestown, NY direction. Your departure from that route into the Finger Lakes area will more than likely be in historic Bath, NY. Taking NY State route 54 north from Bath, it’s just a short drive to one of the Finger Lakes iconic communities – Hammondsport.
Just before you reach the village, you should check out The Finger Lakes Beer Company for your first stop in the region. It’s located right on route 54 on the right hand side (going north), directly after the large Best Western Plus hotel. FLBC was one of the pioneering Craft Farm breweries, started in 2009. They made their name early with the smooth and easy-drinking Copperline Ale and their famously dark Hammonds-Porter, though they have a lineup that will fit any taste preference. Wine, cider, and a limited selection of mixed drinks are available, as well.
